I Bought a Canon Powershot SD790IS

I bought a Canon Powershot SD790IS. It's an ultracompact camera that takes fantastic photos and is very handy to carry around. I have a Rebel Digital with multiple lenses. It's great to use when I can plan my photography. However, sometimes you really do not want to lug around a backpack containing your DSLR. This is why the Powershot SD790 is so handy. It easily fits in your pocket. Ultracompact or not it takes beautiful photos. I was trying to decide between the SD790 and the SD770 and SD1100. Each are fine cameras but I decided that I preferred the 3" screen size better than the other's 2.5" screen. You give up a view finder with the SD790 but I was fine with that. Who uses a view finder on a compact camera? It is too small anyway. The SD1100 apparently was a little lacking in battery life compared to the SD790 so the SD790 seemed a good choice and one that I have not regretted. I bought it from Best Buy after shopping around at Amazon. Surprisingly Best Buy was cheaper than Amazon and I could simply go pick it up without waiting for delivery. I purchased the 2-year warranty. It was around $35 but sometimes these little electronic devices fail and I simply do not want to deal with calling Canon to replace it. It is easier to have Best Buy deal with it for nothing. And trust me, I have used the warranty that I have bought before and it was worth it. |
